The OMX-FLEX is primarily a structured illumination microscope (SIM), which works in several modes: 2D SIM, 3D SIM and TIRF SIM. The microscope is equipped with 4x sCMOS cameras, 4 lasers: 405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 642nm, a set of filters suitable for DAPI/GFP/TRITC/CY5, and has photo-manipulation capabilities (FRAP and photo-activation). The microscope has other imaging modalities: - fast Widefield imaging - ring TIRF - line scanning confocal microscopy (IRIS) and enhanced confocal mode (EDGE) - SMLM. In addition to the list of objectives that are present by default at the microscope (see below), objectives such as 40x/1.25 Silicon might be used when using the widefield or confocal imaging modes.
