system checks

clean all the objectives and check every objective if it is springy (if not LMF have to be informed)
clean the desk and refill immersion oil, cleaning tissues and chemicals, also if there is dust inside
check the desk and shelf lamps and change the bulb if necessary
check the running hours of the microscope lamps and change them if they are over their elapsed time
check if the LMF logo is the current desktop wallpaper (if not, it has to be changed)
doing laser power measurements and note the values (google docs)
empty the glass and S1 waste if they are full
check if there is still EtOH/Water, Ether/EtOH and Benzine in the LMF lab and in the EM area

additional tasks

At least monthly:

--> login as admin and:

perform windows updates
check if all links in the wiki are functional for each system and if the correct objectives are listed

NOTE: Do NOT install windows service packs!!!

update Flash Player, Java, Browser, Adobe Reader and make sure you have the freshest version installed
update Fiji and check if it's starting in the lmfuser account (if not, download it again and put the folder on the desktop and create a shortcut)
check the cabinet if something is missing --> order it
buy required stuff at the MPI store
