- Which resolutions for which screen combination? Here is a small guideline, but check the actual resolution at the system!
- 30" wide-screen: 2560_1600
- 24" wide-screen: 1920_1080
- 20" wide-screen: 1680_1050
- dual 20" wide-screen: 1680_1050 / 3360_1050
- 20": 1600_1200
- dual 20": 1600_1200 / 3200_1200
- 19": 1280_1024
- dual 19": 1280_1024 / 2560_1024
- note: the second options for dual configurations (after the /) might be necessary in some cases where the background is not doubled, but stretched over two screens
[edit] general layout scheme for lmf windows-driven computers
- for administrator account, choose Windows XP
- for lmf user account, take lmf-wallpaper-[X]_[Y]
- for the Windows log-on/start-up screen, use lmf-wallpaper-[X]_[Y]-startup
[edit] get the wallpaper files
- log in as administrator
- connect to the LMF fileserver
- copy all the *.bmp files in the "wallpaper" folder to "C:\Windows" - done!
[edit] set up the wallpaper for the start-up screen
- log in as administrator
- right-click on a free area of the desktop
- select "Properties"
- check the screen resolution in the tab "Settings"
- click "OK"
- open the registry: click "Start" > select "Run..." > type "regedit" > click "OK"
- go to the path: HKEY_USERS > .DEFAULT > Control Panel > Desktop
- double-click "Wallpaper" and enter "C:\Windows\lmf-wallpaper-[screen resolution]-startup.bmp"
- check that the value down below ("WallpaperStyle") is "2"
- close the registry, log off - done!

- the setting in the registry seems to have no effect, the start-up background still looks standard
