Student helper responsibilities

system checks

1. clean all the objectives and check every objective if it is springy (when not LMF have to be informed)
2. clean the desk and refill the chemicals/immersion oils and cleaning tissues
3. check the desk and shelf lamps and change the bulb if necessary
4. check the running hours of the microscope lamps and change them if they are over their elapsed time
5. check if the LMF logo is the current desktop wallpaper (if not, it has to be changed)
6. doing laser power measurements and write down the values (google docs)
7. empty the normal waste bin at every system check and the glass and S1 waste if they are full
8. check if there is still EtOH/Water, Ether/EtOH and Benzine in the LMF lab

additional tasks

At least monthly:

--> login as admin and:

1. do windows updates

NOTE: Do NOT install windows service packs!!!

1. update Flash Player, Java, Browser, Adobe Reader and make sure you have the freshest version installed
2. update Fiji and check if it's starting in the lmfuser account (if not, reinstall it - using the lmfuser account)
3. check the cabinet if something is missing --> order it
4. buy required things at the MPI store
