At The End Of Each Imaging Session ...

  1. You MUST clean the objective lenses that you used, and ALL the other lenses that are dirty.

It does not matter if you used them or not, your responsibility is to leave ALL of the ovjective lenses clean. For lens cleaning see Clean_objective_lens

  1. You MUST also clean up all dirt and spilt immersion oil from the objective lens sides, the objective revolver, the stage, the stage insert / sample holder and everywhere else.
  2. You MUST throw away all rubbish, and generally leave the microscope as you would hope to find it.
  3. You MUST check in the booking database if you are the last user of the day or not.

Last User

  • It is the responsibility of the last user of the day to switch the system off completely, including all hardware components.

--> for that, the user might want to refer to the Startup & Shutdown manuals that are linked from each equipment page

  • Failing to switch the systems off properly will have consequences

Not Last User

If there are still other users going to use the system that same day, and there is no more than 4 hours unbooked time in between, then the user is just supposed to close the software (but that properly, especially on the Zeiss 510's) and log off the windows (or linux) account.

--> for that, the user might want to refer to the Startup & Shutdown manuals that are linked from each equipment page
