BioDIP's History

The BioDIP has developed over a couple of years. Major steps were the foundation of the Imaging Facilities Network (IFN) in 2006 and later the foundation of the BioDIP in 2013 enabled by the DFG "Core facilities" funding.
Here you find the timeline containing minor and major milestones of BioDIPs development.

15Jan2016

GerBI-RI proposal sent to the BMBF

The German network of microscopists and imaging specialists submitted a proposal for a distributed and coordinated national infrastructure offering open access to very advanced bioimaging technologies to the BMBF. If successful, the German BioImaging-Research Infrastructure will become part of the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures.

Application for 2nd DFG call "Core Facilities" successfull!

The application of BioDIP as distributed research infrastructure for a two years extension of the project has been submitted in April 2015 and got approved in January 2016.

New BioDIP website launched

The cool new BioDIP website was launched containing all information about the facilities and their offered equipment.

BioDIP organizes the conference "Trends in Microscopy" 2016

BioDIP and German BioImaging are organizing "Trends in Microscopy" 2016 at the CRTD Dresden. The    event supported by the DFG will take place on February 22-24 2016.
