BioDIP's History

The BioDIP has developed over a couple of years. Major steps were the foundation of the Imaging Facilities Network (IFN) in 2006 and later the foundation of the BioDIP in 2013 enabled by the DFG "Core facilities" funding.
Here you find the timeline containing minor and major milestones of BioDIPs development.

Humberto Ibarra Avila has left the LMF at MPI-CBG

Humberto first went back to Colombia and then in 2012 moved to Orlando, Florida, where he started working as Cell Imaging Core Manager at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute.

Silke White has left the LMF at MTZ

As of 2009 Silke has switched full time to the LMF at MPI-CBG.

Silke Tulok has taken over leadership of the MTZ LMF

Michael Weber has left the MTZ LMF

Afterwards, Michael stayed with the MPI LMF as a student helper for one more year, while pursuing his scientific career, first by studying towards his masters degree in "Regenerative Biology and Medicine" and later on as a PhD student in Jan Huisken's lab.

He defended his PhD on the 5th of May 2015 and started working at the Nikon Imaging Center of the Harvard Medical School in Boston in 2016.
