Light Microscopy Facility (LMF)

Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering

The CMCB Light Microscopy Facility offers profound expertise along with a collection of state-of-the-art light microscopy instrumentation. We provide training and full technical support for all the instruments along with assistance in designing imaging experiments and data processing consultation. The facility currently comprises more than twenty different imaging systems ranging from standard transmitted light to high-resolution confocal, spinning disk and lightsheet microscopes. Specialities are single molecule technologies like fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and fluorescence lifetime microscopy (FLIM) and our whole slide scanning service.

Techniques

  • Widefield (live) brightfield microscopy
  • Widefield (live) fluorescence microscopy
  • Laser Scanning Confocal Microscopy (LSM)
  • 2-photon Confocal Confocal Microscopy
  • Spinning Disk (live) Confocal Microscopy with photo-stimulation
  • Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy

Specialities

  • Whole slide scanning (provided as service)
  • Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM)
  • Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS)
  • Laser Capture Microdissection
  • Light sheet Ultra-Microscopy (large cleared samples)
  • Lattice Light Sheet Microscopy (thin samples)
  • High Throughput Widefield Microscopy
  • Image Analysis Stations
